Kenneth H. Hansen, 35, of North Dartmouth died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1989, while at sea on the scalloper Act IV of which he was the skipper. He was the husband of Susan S. (Hansen) Hansen and the son of Ronald W. and M. Dolores (Davidsen) Hansen. He was born in New Bedford and lived all his life in this area. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. Mr. Hansen was a 1971 graduate of Fairhaven High School, where he was a member of the baseball team. He attended Texas Lutheran College. In 1980, while engineer aboard the fishing boat Nordic Pride, he was instrumental in the rescue of five fishermen from the sinking fishing vessel Christina. Survivors include his widow and parents; a daughter Kristen Hansen of North Dartmouth; a brother, Eric of Mattapoisett; a sister, Susan Zahka of East Bridgewater; his maternal grandmother, Serina Davidsen-Matland of Fairhaven; and several nieces and a nephew.
