On July 11, 1958, the lobster boat R. W. Griffin collided with the British freighter City of Karachi about 70 miles south of Martha's Vineyard. Four members of the crew--Samuel Vincent, Tore Rubin, Grandison Taber, and George Wiswell--were rescued by the Coast Guard, but Captain Warren B. Vincent, Engineer Milton Taber, and Cook John Paulsen were not found.
