Hyannis--Antonio Joao Moco, age 61, affectionately known as "To Joao" to family and friends, died unexpectedly Monday, November 28, 2011, at Cape Cod Hospital. Antonio was the beloved husband of Fernanda Maria (Mendes) Moco; and beloved father of David M. Moco of New Bedford and the late Michael M. Moco. Mr. Moco was a son of Estrela P. (Ribeiro) Moco of Portugal and the late Antonio Pereira Moco. He was born in Leca-Da-Palmeira, Porto, Portugal. He lived in Cova, Figueira-Da-Foz, Portugal, until 1965, moving to Ijmuiden, Holland, with his family until 1977 and then moved to New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he married his wife Fernanda and has since resided.
Mr. Moco was the brother of Rui Moco and his wife, Lia, of Holland, and uncle of Antonio Moco and Rui Moco Jr., also of Holland. He is survived by numerous cousins in New Bedford and Portugal. Mr. Moco was a commercial fisherman. Antonio enjoyed traveling, reading, and he loved his "power tools."
