Mr. Hansen had been employed as a stevedore with the New England Steamship Line and became a fisherman in 1933. He had worked abord the Charles E. Beckman and the Winifred M. He had received an honorable discharge from the Lighthouse Service of the United States Department of Commerce in 1928 after two years of service. He was a member of the Federated Scallop Producers Cooperative Association and had made his home with a friend, Joseph Loba, in New Bedford. He was survived by a son and a sister in Norway.
Henry Hansen was on the deck of the Isabel Q. fixing some machinery when a wave swept him overboard. Captain Louis A. Doucette Jr. and his crew launched a dory at once and recovered his body.
