Mr. Star was also known as Fernans Estrella. He was survived by his mother, Mary Parent, of New Bedford.
Fernans Star (Fernans Estrella) was lost overboard from the Malvina B. while the craft was in-bound to New Bedford. Captain George R. Palmer had seen Mr. Star opening a door leading down to the engine room, and other crew members had seen him there. However, he was missed about ten minutes after last being seen. The sea was smooth, and Captain Palmer circled around the area for almost an hour without finding any trace of Mr. Star.
