Around 9:25 PM on the evening of December 9, 1957, Ingvald Ingvaldsen was tangled in an anchor line aboard the scalloper Ursula M. Norton and went overboard. The incident occurred approximately 160 miles east of Pollock Rip Lightship.

Crew recovered the body about two hours after the accident.
