Edgar P. Lobo was a retired merchant mariner who had been fishing for only a few months. He was survived by his three children.
The dragger Atlantis disappeared on October 30, 1992. For five days, a Coast Guard cutter and two aircraft searched an 18,000-square-mile area centering on a site 25 miles east of Nantucket, where the Atlantis had last been seen, without results. A year later, a wreck believed to be the Atlantis was found a quarter of a mile from its last reported position, off Nantucket. The ship was not raised, and the men's bodies were not recovered.
